Hello,
I have a HP Specter x360 with the double right side USB-C charging ports. Last year, it started having difficulty charging so I would have to wiggle the charger around to find a certain position in which it would charge. I had to purchase a new charger because I thought the charger was the problem. It turns out it wasn’t, I think the issue is that the USB-C charging ports does not work at all. I’ve read online that it is an well known issue. Now, it no longer charges no matter how much I wiggle the charger. I would like to have it fixed/replaced as I have only owned this laptop for 2 years and all of my information is still stored on it.
Is it possible to get it repaired? How much might it cost and how long would it take?
Thank you.

HP Spectre X 360-13-aw0023dx with S/N [personal info removed]& Product #: 7PS48UA Purchase date 12/5 or 6/2019 at Best Buy; so not even 2 years old. I realize the warranty is expired; but can the USB--type C ports be purchased.
This was an expensive, but awesomely fast laptop...and I hope to goodness it's fixable. If not, hoping to retrieve all of my valuable information from the hard drive which I believe I've been told is possible. If not, there's no way I'll buy another computer with this type of charging port if it won't even last 2 years! I truly 'baby' my laptop and it's never been dropped nor transported in anything other than a soft case.
It's pretty sad that we aldo have a larger/older HP laptop with 17" screen that has the traditional 'round hole' charging port and it is 5 years old with no issues charging. For the Spectre, we tried different charging cord and already removed the back and reset the battery with no luck. A you-tuber said replacement ports not available (grrr!), so to try removing the two ports, straighten the pins and re-solder...I know nobody who can do this. Any suggestions? I 'absolutely love' this laptop. So dissappointed in HP if unfixable. 😞

Hi,
The official fix would be to replace the motherboard. Which would probably cost as much as a new PC.
What you could do is to go to your local trusted computer or smartphone repair shop and see if they can replace the part. Solder a new port on the motherboard. It is possible, but not all repair shops will do it.
On page 57 of the service manual you can see the steps to remove the system board.

Hope it helps,
