Hi. I have had my laptop (HP Spectre x36013-aw2xxxf) or a few years and the warranty expired in 2022. I recently noticed my usb-c charging port stopped working. It seems like the port is out of place and is no longer functioning. How would I go about to replace this port? This computer was expensive and I can not afford to replace it. How much would it cost and if I extended my warranty would it help? Also, how can I service it to get repaired and who do I contact? Thank you.

There are two USB Type-C ports on your laptop that can be used to charge it. I would find it unlikely that both would be broken
My Spectre x360 13t-ap000 has an identical setup.
If you have inadvertently broken one of the ports it can re replaced by a competent technician at a laptop shop. Not all laptop shops perform component repair.
You can call Northridgefix.com for a quote on the repair. You can ship it to them. They are in Los Angeles, California

It is great. It is charging through the second USB c.
Do you think it should charge through USB 3 too?
The other question is that laptop has DC charging outlet.
I cannot find appropriate charger for the outlet. I was trying standard HP 4.5mm looking too big. What the diameter should fit? May I use standard universal charger with changeable cylindrical plugs? Many questions. It works for now, but USB C is too bad to have doubts that it will stop working too. Do we have the other choices?

From the Maintenance & Service guide for your laptop model series (See page 27, table 3-2)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06649845.pdf
65-W HP Smart AC adapter (non-PFC, slim, USB Type-C, straight, 1.0-m) L04650-850
65-W HP Smart AC adapter (non-PFC, USB Type-C, RC, 1.0-m) L32392-001
The manual does not show any other charging port.

That isn't a charging port. It is for a speaker or headphones to plug into. See the user manual.
If you plug power into it you will damage the system board.

No that person is right. I had the same issue. My HP Spectre x360 Convertible was just over two years old and both charging ports eventually stopped recognizing the charger. And 3 different computer repair places said they can't replace them because they are soldered in place.

And someone who has access to a donor system board can use the usb type-c ports as spares.
I am guessing you are not familiar with hot air rework and micro soldering techniques.
The USB type-c ports can be replaced. Just because the PC repair places said the ports can't be replaced, does not make what they said to be the truth. They either did not have the skill set required, access to a donor board or did not want to take the time to effect a removal and replacement.
