I'm surprised the HP Spectre x360 15-bl0xx series is not on their updated battery recall from January 2019. I purchased this laptop late 2017 so I have had this for a little bit over a year now (This happens out of warranty go figure). There are many other customers who have posted similar cases of their laptops bulging underneath because the internal battery is swelling up. My trackpad is now pushed up slightly, the lid doesnt close all the way and none of the four "feet" are touching the desk. I'm not sure what other precautions to take other than to limit my use of it (I use this as my main machine so I am in a pickle). I can't even find the battery through HP's Parts store. Right now I'm concerned if this swollen battery is a safety concern. What kind of support exist for these kinds of situations? Any suggestions on what I can do?
Update 2/24/19: Contacted HP Canada on the phone. Not exactly impressed with telling me to spend roughly $500 (Then discounted to $300 for some reason???) to get that battery swapped. Sure, I'd be willing to shell out that much if I had to replace more expensive components like if there was a motherboard failure or something due accidental damage. However, the nature of this situation and safety concern if I continue to use their product I'm not sure if I should just stop using this machine and HP products altogether. Horrible.
Update 2/26/19: Reached out to HP Support on Twitter since it seemed more responsive and I'm glad I did. Got in touch with an HP representative a couple hours later and handled my situation swiftly and made sure that everything will be taken care of (as should be and put my mind at ease). Out of good will HP is not charging me for any repair work which should've been the case from the get go because of the nature of the situation instead of my previous contact with them just giving me repair quotes. I have a repair service order in place and will be shipping this machine out as soon as I get the repair box. Will continue to post updates.
Final Update 3/6/19: Recieved my laptop from UPS a couple hours ago and was pretty surprised at how quick the overall turnaround time was from being shipped out for repairs to being returned (roughly a week). Can report that my unit was repaired and everything seems to be functioning how it should be. Hopefully the replacement battery is reliable and won't have a similar issue a year from now. Workmanship on my unit through HP was well done and any component affected by the battery swelling has been fixed or replaced. Shout out to HP support representatives on here and on Twitter who have assisted me. Thank you!
Best,
Jiro

Can more of the support be posted publicly? it seems irresponsible for HP to sell a Battery that malfunctions yet not provide information to customers experiencing battery issues?
why else would anyone be on here
