Spectre 13-v104na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The laptop is supposed to support charging and video through the same USB-C cable.

When I connect it to my monitor, the video is fine, but it doesn't charge and I get the message "The AC adapter is not compatible with this system"

The monitor is a LG 29UM69G

The monitor manual is a bit vague, but does suggest it should be supplying 30W so I'm wondering if it's just the laptop being a bit fussy.

It would be great to be able to charge and do video with the same cable.

You need at least 45W. From the following specs

The USB-C port for your monitor won't charge anything. I

Thanks.

It does have some power though, as it charges my phone.

Guess it's under the power required for the laptop though.

I'll keep a lookout for a monitor that does have adequate power output.
