Hi guys,
Here is my laptop spec sheet -
Product Series - HP Spectre x360 CH011NR (Refurbished)
Purchase Date - Almost 2 Years Completed
Country of Purchase - US
1. 16GB RAM, 512 SSD
2. Windows Home
Issue - Battery has a Blown Fuse (Refer Image Below)
How I Diagnosed It -
1. Stopped Charging. Runs only on AC Power.
2. Ran Components Check using HP Hardware Diagnostics Software. Battery Test Failed.
Cause - Probably Overheating due to Long Usage Time in a hot room without air conditioning
I bought this laptop from the US but I live in India. Is it possible to avail services from here?
If so, can you please tell me what steps should I take to resolve the issue?
Thank You!

Hi
Make your own assessment...
Parts List, most probably.......
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=3MU06UA
928372-856 Assembly-battery 6Cell 84Wh 3.64Ah LI YB
And it does seem possible to purchase from HP.

Something you could attempt, or watch a local repair shop do. Just to control the costs.
If in doubt please ask.

Since you state that it is refurbished and you have had it almost two years, it is not likely to be under warranty.
You would need to use the services of the vendor you bought the notebook from.
A replacement battery with HP part number 928372-856 isn't terribly expensive.
You can source HP part number 928372-856 and purchase it online in India easily on Amazon or eBay and have it replaced at a local shop.

Thanks for the awesome support.
I tried amazon.com, ebay.com (both US and my country) but couldnt find a match.
Though I found it on HP Parts Store, it was Not Available. http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=3MU06UA
I was able to find two places online where the battery for this model was sold.
https://www.replacement-batteries.co.uk/laptop-battery/hp_928372-856.html
https://www.laptopbatterydirect.net/hp/hp-928372-856-battery.htm
But I am not sure they ship to India. And also whether they are legit.
I am okay if it takes time to get the battery from the official store. (i.e 1-2 months)
But at all cost, I am hoping to avoid buying a counterfeit product.
Is it better to wait and buy from the HP Parts Store?
Or should I try to find some other place?

Thanks guys. I guess I know what I need to do now. I will try that UK Site. Since they do returns.
The biggest challenge is getting it across international waters in the middle of this pandemic.
Hopefully, it works out.

Hi
State taxes of 20% are not applicable to exports.
So you must ask for cost LESS VAT.
This will go someway to offset the shipping costs.
It will not cover any duty payable by customs etc in India.

The Chinese and Korean batteries are fine as well.
