Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl1XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Problem Description

The battery is not charged when the AC adapter is plugged into my spectre x360 15', so I have done two diagnoses to this problem.

Diagnosis

1. HP Support Assistant

 - First, I examined the battery with HP Support Assistant, but it shows "normal" after the diagnosis as follows.

The battery is still being locked and cannot be charged even though it is able to discharge, so now my laptop is powered up by the AC adapter only.

2. UEFI Components Test

 - Second, I diagnosed the battery with UEFI, and it shows the failure, Blown Fuse (42).

What's important, this result of UEFI contradicts with that of HP Support Assistant.

However, I noticed that the battery can still be subtly charged when doing the diagnosis with HP Support Assistant!

1. Remain capacity showed "1751 mAh" before testing with HP Support Assistant as follows.

2. Remain capacity showed "1756 mAh" after testing with HP Support Assistant. The remain capacity increased from 1751 mAh to 1756 mAh, showing it was subtly charged.

This result implies the battery can still be charged with this bug although the battery is damaged physically, in this case of blown fuse here! That is dangerous and with the risk of explosion or burning of the battery!

To sum up, if the fuse is really blown, how can the battery be charged though? If the fuse is not blown, why the battery is locked and shown Blown Fuse (42)? It seems like each of these situations contradict with the testing results from either UEFI and HP Support Assistant.

What would be your suggestion? Thank you.

By the way, I am not satisfied with the product quality of spectre x360 because there are many problems after buying it! In the second year of using it, the touchpad warped and the laptop cannot be folded perfectly! I guess the cause of this bending case of laptop comes from potential thermal issues.
