Hi I have a question with my HP Stream 11 if anyone is able to answer this. I do know that it has a no fan build which they say is designed to keep it cool but mine keeps on running near 150* fahrenheit and keeps in either running into errors due to the heat or the screen completely turns black and requires a restart.
If anyone has a clue of a possible solution to this issue I'd be open ears to anything you have to say.
Thanks!

Always place a notebook computer on a flat, hard, surface, to allow cool air to enter via the vents on the bottom.
Or, place the computer on:

to try to "push" cool air into it.
How old is it?
Does it "live" in a dusty environment? Pets that shed?
Maybe, a can of compressed air can help remove any internal dust.
Are the "power" settings set to "maximum performance" or to "balanced performance" ?

The Notebook is always on a flat, solid surface and there are no vents in the laptop, only speakers at the bottom and the regular USD/HDMI/Audio/Charger ports.
I thought the only solution would probably be a mat cooling system or a fan to place under it to blow cold air on it. Its only two Years old so it shouldnt be having these problems and it is not housed in a dusty environment since it stays in the sleave the rest of the time. Power Settings are at Maximum performance due to the underperformance on all tasks the laptop has. Cant used the Compressed air because again, there is no areas to release the temperature held by the laptop besides the grips on the bottom to transfer the heat to the table.

Are the ports on the "bottom" or on the "sides" ?

What happens to its temperature if you "experiment" by switching to a lower level of performance?
Google-search for "download free SPECCY".
Download, install, and run this software.
It will report many things, including:
* speed (RPM) of any fan,
* temperature of the disk-drive,
* temperature of the motherboard,
* temperature of the CPU.
Tell us those numbers.
> Can't use the Compressed air because again, there is no areas to release the temperature held by the laptop
Really? If that's true, then the laptop has no way to "exhaust" any hot air, nor to "intake" the room-temperature air. Bad design!
> besides the grips on the bottom to transfer the heat to the table.
Are those grips made of metal (which transmits heat) or made of rubber (which is an insulator) ?
Metal pieces usually do not "grip" -- they "slide". Rubber usually "grips".

The Ports are on the sides only.
Computer still eventually overheats when on normal performance settings.
Speed RPM for fans says 0 RPM For everything. Temperature for everything is 60* Celsius but for the CPU it is 66* Celsius.
Yeah the design for exchanging heat is poor and the grips are rubber so they only transfer little heat. When the Laptop is on a hard surface, it seems that the heat radiates to the surface it is sitting on even if only the feet are touching it.
Once again, only solution would be a fan pad.

My girlfriend bought this same computer< She has the same issue Turn it on and it very quickly over heats webpages open start to skip and videos freeze because the Laptop is so hot
I opened it up and noticed there is no Fan and no heat distribution what so ever
I noticed on another post before mine someo0ne mentioned that this particular model doesn't come with fans which I find absolutely ridiculous and kind of silly we took ours back and got our money back because without the fans or anything to move the heat the laptop eventually becomes unusable
