I'm receiving a message regarding HP System BIOS Update Utility. When trying to update BIOS and firmware it tells me that there is not enough free space to complete the System BIOS and Firmware update operation. Deletes some files to free disk space them retry again.

If you received this error on a notebook that came with Windows preinstalled on the factory-installed storage drive, the disk the error was referring to was actually the EFI system partition (ESP) on the storage drive.
The ESP is 260 MB in size by default and stores critical Windows boot system files as well as HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool and BIOS update utility files. The ESP may also store current and previous BIOS files.
When you tried to update BIOS, the BIOS update utility in the ESP was used, but apparently the ESP just didn't have enough free space for the utility to perform the update with, thus the error popped up.
You may be able to delete some BIOS files stored in the ESP to free up space. See this thread for how to do it.
