Microsoft Windows 11

I've been facing persistent issues with my touchpad, which has completely stopped working due to an I2C HID device problem. I've tried almost every possible solution without success. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times, disabled and re-enabled the device, and even reinstalled Windows 10 before upgrading back to Windows 11 after a full memory wipe.

I also checked Device Manager for errors, updated the chipset drivers and BIOS to the latest versions, reset BIOS settings to default, and disabled power management settings that might interfere with the device. Running full hardware diagnostics using HP's tools didn’t reveal any issues. I even booted into an HP hardware check to check if the problem was OS-specific, but the touchpad still didn’t work, which makes me think this could be a hardware issue.

Despite all these efforts, nothing has worked. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There are several options for troubleshooting your touchpad when it is not working. Use the following procedures, until a solution is found.

Perform a hard reset

Test the touchpad in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

Run Windows Update

Perform a Windows system reset
