HP USB-C Dock G5 is not detecting USB, ethernet, or monitor ports, the dock is charging the laptop successfully. This is after the latest firmware upgrade via HP image assistant to ver. 1.0.18.0. Dock worked 100% prior to the firmware upgrade. Tested with multiple laptops HP Elitebook 840 G8, 840 G6, and 840 G5 after firmware upgrade and the same issue (all laptops work ok with other USB-C G5 docks I have in stock). The dock is out of warranty as of November 2021.
Also tried downgrading to the previous ver. 1.0.16.0 (and others below this version) via firmware installer from the page below. The firmware installer is launching, but is not detecting the dock, thus is unable to apply a lower version of the firmware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We also have issues with this. The computer, (Both 840 G8 and 840 G9) is connected to the USB-C Dock G5. Then the connection between the computer and dock will not work. It will not charge, displays not working, network not working, USB-ports not working.
This solution works:
1. Shut down your laptop
2. Disconnect the dock
3. Reset the laptop by holding the power button for 30 seconds
4. Start your computer up
5. Plug the G5 dock back in
HP please fix this, this is terrible.
