Hello guys, I have an HP Victus 15 laptop with an RTX 3050 (4GB VRAM) and 8GB RAM.

I have played multiple games on this laptop, including Ghost of Tsushima. But recently, it has started showing problems in every game, even low-size games such as Devour, Green Hell, and The Forest. The FPS drops very low, around 10-15 FPS, and there is heavy stuttering. I'm not able to play properly because of this, even in smaller games.

I called the HP service centre, and a technician came to my house to check it. He told me that there is a RAM issue and suggested upgrading it. He even called his senior, and he also said the same thing - just one statement: upgrade the RAM.

I repeatedly asked them to check for the actual fault, but he was very resistant to checking other possible problems. I also asked him to check the thermal paste. At first, he said the thermal paste was fine, but when he finally checked it, he said it had dried up. Now he is charging ₹400 for it along with the service charge. Still, he keeps insisting that I should upgrade the RAM. I thought that maybe there were some power issues with my laptop, and thus I used to plug my charger properly whenever faced problems like this while gaming. And sometimes it started working so well whenever I used to push the charger pin with little force. But the HP guy is saying there is no power issue or problem with the charging port.

Has anyone faced similar issues?

8GB ram is insufficient that true but can be another causes too. Check CPU/GPU temps while playing using msi afterburner. It can confirm if it's temp
