Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A7AV)

Hello HP support team,

I purchased a HP gaming laptop and have been playing Genshin Impact on the Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A7AV) for about 3 months now. In the graphics settings, I have set it to default for medium graphics quality.

However, when playing the game, the CPU temperature gets very hot, sometimes exceeding 100 degrees Celsius. The laptop fan also spins very fast and makes a lot of noise. I find this to be very unusual for gaming laptops, as when I tried other laptops, the temperature hardly ever went above 85 degrees Celsius.

The laptop is only 6 months old and I have been updating the drivers, operating system and bios firmware as recommended by HP support, but the overheating issue still persists when playing games.

Can you please assist me in resolving this issue?

Hello @Sandytechy20,

Thank you for your concern and instructions on how to handle the overheating issue on my device. I am following your directions, and the ventilation holes of the cooling fan have been cleaned. There is hardly any dust or obstruction as the laptop was just purchased and used in a clean environment.

I tried to download and install HP CoolSense software, but it seems that the software is outdated and not compatible with my device. Please check the attached image.

Is there any other way to solve this problem?

Thank you.
