It would be interesting to know the result of your test with Samsung RAM.

I have already ordered M471A4G43AB1-CWE. It has the same Rank x Organization ( 2R x 8 ) like my previous Samsung 2x16gb RAM. G Skill RipjawsV F4-3200C22D-64GRS has 2R x 16. Not sure if it helps but I hope it will work better. I will let you know.

Thanks, looking forward to your experiment. However, I do not yet understand the reason for particular RAM modules to work only for a period of time. I mean, they should either work or fail from the beginning.

I also can not understand why it can happen. All memory tests are passed. Moreover, I did not see shutdowns for the last 2 days. So it is totally unpredictable. Then it can occur randomly even it the laptop is idle.

Feromir, Vovichx, I believe this is most likely not an issue having to do with the RAM itself (the modules), but with the 64GB total capacity, and the UEFI firmware not supporting it correctly. Hopefully a future firmware update will fix it....

I have an idea if you want to do some testing. It may be a bad idea (meaning it might not work), but it certainly can't hurt. A couple of weeks ago Paul_Tikkanen EXPERT Level 21 found and posted an old hack to solve a problem with a RAM upgrade on a very old HP laptop line. It involved artificially limiting the MAX RAM Windows can use. This is the post by Paul: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/BIOS-update-for-ENVY-4-1010sn-...   and this is the old thread that contained the original hack: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Performance-degrades-in-Proboo...

I suggest using the Msconfig version of the mod, and limiting the Ram by several GBs....

Thank you for the hint. We can try it as well if Samsung RAM has the same issue. Actually it is a first time I faced with the issue of upgrading a laptop with the memory beyond the limit of official specs of the laptop:) In the past I played with Intel i5 1st, 2nd, 3rd gens laptops and everything was fine. So basically I was able to run max supported RAM according to CPU specs while the laptop specs said about support of lower amount.

Thank me later if it works. This guy "Laptop not starting with 64gb ram, hp victus i7 12650h" can't even start his Alder Lake Victus with 64GB RAM, so I'd say HP has definitely decided to make this upgrade difficult.....

That sounds sad. I hope HP will sort it out. This is my first HP laptop and I like it. The only annoying thing is this 64GB RAM issue. With other laptop vendors I did not face with such issues.

I agree. If you take a look at the discussion I had with Feromir on the previous page, I've had quite a few of bad experiences with RAM upgrades on previous HP laptops. Very expensive Gaming modules that booted and ran perfectly fine, but on the first reboot would go to a black screen (and refuse to ever boot again unless physically removed and reinserted), pavilions that demanded dual-rank RAM to see it, etc, etc. Anyways, the really sad part is that Feromir appears to be right in his instinct that some models from the Victus line have an "inferior" BIOS firmware that gives these problems with the 64GB, because the sister line of Omens upgrades with no issues.

Actually, I have similar thoughts to what TzortzisG says. My laptop came with 2x8GB 1Rx16 RAM from the factory.
It looks more like a question of optimization and stability.
It may be the BIOS has not been optimized to handle over 32GB RAM, it is indirectly indicated by BIOS reporting 0GB in case of 64GB RAM. This could be intentionally done by HP to justify prices and maintain sales of better equipped models. Therefore, I doubt in future BIOS updates supporting more RAM if my assumption is valid. A modded BIOS based on the BIOS from the models with the same or similar hardware that come with 64GB RAM from the factory could be a solution.
Unfortunately, unlike regular PCs, BIOS settings in these laptops cannot be tweaked.
