I have a Zbook 15 G3 and the security settings in the BIOS are a little tricky. I am betting its that. I am actually going to the office where it is in a couple hours and I will update this with any settings in the BIOS I find that might help. Been a while since I opened the BIOS and I could not find a simulator online.
OK found it. Go into BIOS. Turn off computer as you turn on tap esc then F10 at the menu...BIOS/advanced/port options....down at the bottom (you may have to scroll) is "restrict USB devices"....set that to "allow all usb devices" and you should be good to go. These workstations have very robust BIOS for corporate IT departments. Allows them to keep employees from plugging in external drives which are potentially infected and/or used to steal files.
