Hi to all. Original HP SR03XL battery was exhausted so I've installed a new compatible battery. Battery is "not detected" on status bar after installing.
I run last update Win 10 ver.19045, UEFI ver. Insyde F.26, ver SMBIOS 3.0.
I've tried this routine but not working for me https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/NON-hp-battery-detected/td-p/8.... From HP support site is not possible to download more updated uefi so I don't know if mine is the most updated https://support.hp.com/it-it/drivers/hp-pavilion-gaming-15-cx0000-laptop-pc/model/24434518?sku=5ES67... .
At very first boot after battery installing there was a message about a certain bios reset but I didn't care and system boot correctly. After a couple of hours battery was still "not detected". Anyway I tried to unplug AC and unexpectedly laptop continued to stay on till battery was discharged (3 hours ca.) when suddenly shutdown (it not shows remaing time/charge on status bar).
After recharging for some hours, laptop boot only with AC plugged. If I try to boot without AC connection it does not boot.
I try to enter UEFI on boot but Uefi screen freezes on "diagnostics initialization" and do not show diagnostics menu (I rolled back for once with old exhausted battery and Uefi diagnostics menu appears quickly and works fine).
After boot again with compatilbe battery I tried some new way to solve that mess. So I disconnect AC and laptop remained alive. Clicked on "battery saver" activation mode on status bar and after 1 sec. laptop died. I reconnect AC and on boot I receive a new message on sad black screen "Uefi interactive shell, mapping table (values..) Press esc. in 1 sec. to skip startup.nsh or any other key to continue". I shut down with power button and second time it boot correctly whitout that sad message. Now the "battery saver" de-activation mode on status bar is not clickable anymore so I can't undo last attempt.
Anyway laptop works with AC but I kindly ask help to solve "battery not detected" issue. Thanks for your time 🙏

What is your machine ? Sounds like you need a REAL part not a generic compatible part. Now, the question is WHAT IS YOUR COMPUTER ? Please use the following way to find out:

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c06156426
HP does NOT list its parts
https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=5ES67EA
From manual of the series, it can use
4 cell part # 917724-856 or
3 cell part # L08855-856
From your post and from its specs, it uses 3 cell part # L08855-856. You can order from https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=L08855-856 or use part # to order elsewhere
Regards.
From your post, looks likes it uses

Many thanks @banhien I really appreciate your support.
I know that there is original spare part but it is 5 times the price of a compatilble one... for a laptop 5 years old I think it don't worth...
Sorry I don't want to seem rude but there are plenty of users that install "SR03XL" compatible battery as spare part for HP laptops. I thought I could do the same but it seems I'm wrong. Thank you all the same.

Just for the records: battery I bought was that https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07TMZDPHM
Now I send it back and I'll take an HP original one.
Many thanks

I kindly ask you one more question before order original HP battery.
Given that my laptop can handle also 4 cell battery part # 917724-856 I noticed that it gives 15.4Volt vs 11.55Volt of three cells one.
At this point I would buy the 4 cell one to have more autonomy but can my laptop manage that significant difference in voltage? Many thanks for your time and support. 😊

SR03XL can be from many vendors I don't know whose is which. I would stick with the 3 cell one.
Regards.
