I recently asked the community about replacing the power adapter for my HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop and was told to go on eBay, do a search by the HP part number, and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter. I did this, and purchased this adapter, which seemed to fit the bill: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235107423065
This adapter arrived today, and when I plug it into my laptop, I continue to get a popup that says "Low power source detected. Your computer will run in reduced performance mode and may not charge. Use of the original power adapter is recommended." My dog chewed through my original power adapter, hence my search for a new one. This is the third adapter I have purchased in the past week in my attempt to find one that works. In spite of these popups, my computer doesn't seem to be running slow. My question is this: Could these popups be a leftover from when I attempted to use two other power adapters that were not appropriate for my computer? Is there a way to turn them off, if this new adapter is in fact the correct one? Is it the correct one?

Have you considered using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics utility to test the power adapter?
Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key to invoke the diagnostics utility.
Choose Component tests and select power adapter.
let us know what the test result is.
