HI
I purchased a probook laptop a year back, now facing power problem, handed over to Bangladesh Smartbd Service Center for warranty claim. Its already been 2 weeks. and they want 1 month more to import the battery. Is this normal? I thought HP warranty service is way uicker.

Hello,
HP Warranty Service Duration
It's understandable to be concerned about the duration of a warranty service request for your HP ProBook laptop, especially if it involves a critical component like the battery. While HP strives to provide timely service, several factors can affect the time required for repairs, especially when specific parts need to be imported.
Here are a few considerations:
-
Part Availability: If a specific part like a battery is not readily available in the local market, HP service centers may need to import it, which can take additional time due to shipping and customs processes.
-
Service Center Workload: The workload or current demand at the service center can also influence repair times.
-
Global Supply Chain: External factors like global supply chain disruptions can sometimes affect part availability and import times.
Recommendations:
- Stay in Contact: Keep in regular touch with the service center to get updates on the status of your repair.
- Request Updates: Politely request updates on the expected delivery date of the needed part.
- HP Support: If the delay seems excessive or if you have further concerns, consider contacting HP support directly for assistance and to ensure your situation is being handled appropriately.
While a one-month wait may seem long, it could be necessary due to the above logistical reasons. Remaining in contact with the service center and HP can help ensure you receive timely information and support.
