Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy Laptop with a  7th Generation i7 CPU and was wondering if the CPU can be ugraded to the 10th generation without having to purchase a new system board.  Thanks

Hi:

 

All processors since the Intel 5th gens are integral parts of the motherboard.

 

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the system board with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.
