Hi:

Yes, you can replace the 1 TB 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 1 TB 2.5" SSD.

Yes, you can add a second 8 GB memory chip in the empty memory slot and end up with 16 GB of memory.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.

Only the notebooks that came with M.2 SATA SSD's from the factory have M.2 slots, so that info is not applicable to your notebook.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I have changed my old 2.5' mechanical hard drive to new 1tb SSD  2.5' drive, now am not able to enter into HP recovery mode by pressing F11 (it shows  entering into recover mode in bottom and skips to boot device not found). I have googled and done every basic thing legacy is enabled. Also I have tried entering into advance options on startup by ESC still I cant find system recovery in menu.

Also I have noticed since have changed the hard drive HP logo is missing on the startup.

I did check diagnosis hard drive test and it passed.

OS - My notebook pre loaded with windows 8
HP pavilion 15-au620tx

Is there another way to enter into recovery mode or I'm missing anything here.

Hi:

According to the specs for your notebook, it came with W10 Home from HP.

You should be able to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
