I have a new HP Spectre x360 16. The stylus pen has been on charge for more than 3 hours, both the charger that came with the pen and my usual phone charger. However, it remains orange and won't turn white to show it is fully charged. Also, it seems to not react at all when i press buttons and its off the charger, i.e. I have not managed to pair it with the laptop. WHat can I do?

@Tchivan, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Spectre x360 Stylus Pen Charging Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Since your Spectre pen is new and should normally show a white light when fully charged, staying orange for hours suggests it isn’t actually charging or isn’t responding properly. Let’s try a few checks to wake it up:
🔧 Troubleshooting Steps
Clean the connectors
Gently wipe the charging pins on the pen and inside the charging cradle (or USB-C port if it’s that model) with a dry, lint-free cloth. Dust or film can stop proper charging.
Try a direct wall charger
Plug the pen into a wall outlet using the HP-provided adapter/cable, not a USB hub or laptop port. Some third-party chargers don’t supply steady power.
Check the LED behavior
Normally, orange = charging, white = fully charged.
If it stays orange forever, the pen may not be completing the charging cycle.
Force reset the pen
Hold both pen buttons together for about 10–15 seconds. This can sometimes reset its internal controller
.
Pairing with your Spectre
Go to Windows Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Add device → Bluetooth.
Press and hold the top button (eraser end) of the pen for 3–5 seconds until the LED blinks, then try pairing.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
