Hi,

I was trying to load linux on my HP stream using a bootable USB. It failed many times, showing some error messages related to i/o error. Then did a hardware diagnostic test from BIOS (F2?). The 'Memory Quick Check' failed with a failure ID: Q4VA19-8PX9L0-MFPURG-40CM03. I don't know what that means and how to fix it. Help appreciated.

Hi:

 

The error code reported, Memory Module 1 Failure, means the memory module needs to be replaced.

 

There is only one memory module and one memory slot.

 

The maximum memory you can install is 1 x 4 GB

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

See chapter 5 for the memory module R & R procedure.
