Hello, HP Support assistant advises manual battery optimization procedure.. But the test scan shows battery is at 100% power level. Is it necessary to go through with this? Thanks, Bob.

Hi  @59ROBERT,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about the battery optimization, Please note If the HP Support Assistant battery scan shows your battery at 100% health and power level, then your battery is currently performing optimally.

Here are a few best practices you can follow without running the full optimization procedure:

  1. Occasional discharge: Allow the battery to discharge to around 40–50% before recharging.
  2. Avoid constant charging: If possible, don’t keep the laptop plugged in continuously.
  3. Regular checks: Run the HP Support Assistant battery check every few months to monitor health.

So in short: no urgent action is required right now, but adopting these habits will help preserve your battery’s long-term performance.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
