Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r1000 (8Z7S7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, my CPU has 100 Celsius while gaming. I have I7 14700hx and rtx4060. When I am playing video games when the CPU is used for 10% it has 95 Celsius. I have one more Victus 16 with i7-13700H and it is also heating that much. Can you help me? The laptops are brand new.

I recommend using a basic laptop stand that allows maximum airflow.

You can turn on fan always on in the BIOS to see if that cools the system down.

I am using a laptop stand with 2 fans. I understand that there is Summer outside but I think 90 Celsius is too much, no?

The maximum operating temp for a I7 14700hx is 100C.

90C is pretty hot but the laptop will shut itself down if it reaches to protect itself, so that is probably going to be as good as it gets in Summer.

"I am using a laptop stand with 2 fans." I would use the fan always on and the stand. That should bring the temp down a bit.

Thank you, I was just aware that the 2 new laptops are heating that much.

I would definetly keep an eye out for this.

My Victus is 2 months old and I had top of the market cooling pad, where I had a perfect seal (no obstructions),

full-fan speed,

plus full fan speed for the laptop,

20ºC outside and reaching exactly the same temperatures.

hwinfo has shown me that the computer throttles and has 96ºC to 97ºC spikes just to open  on google chrome youtube main page, without anything else running and with max speen fan, in balanced mode.

Also, Tjunction max has reached several times 0ºC  but the throttling starts much before this, so it gets even weirder, in my opinon.

All of this in a session where I haven't even started a single game, just word and browser.

This all being said, I would keep an eye out, since the Intel 13th and 14th gen "situation" and I have been having hints on my victus of the exact same problems as the one's being reported for the 13th and 14th gen Intel Desktop CPU.
