I have an HP 17-ca1012na that has started coming apart at the hinges.
A seemingly common problem with HP laptops, my laptop began with a clicking sound and has now separated. I have taken it to be looked at and the hinges are intact but the actual casing has begun to lift. I have seen another user on this forum with my laptop have the same problem.
HP claim that unless the manufacture has specified there is a defect with a laptop, then it is automatically a paid repair. How do they know there is a defect without even looking?
While my laptop is still in warranty, I have contacted HP and they have quoted me £170 for a paid repair. I also have a 3 year extended warranty, which means nothing to them.
HP now refuse to contact me regarding this issue and I have no one else to talk to. I think it is unfair that we pay for a product and are offered no support for it, even when we pay extra for the support.
Has anyone else had much luck with getting their laptop casing/hinge repaired without charge within warranty period? OR even looked at by an HP engineer?
Is there any one else higher than customer relations I can talk to?
