HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15m-ed0023dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After normal use & no incidents to speak of, the left hinge of my laptop (HP Envy x360 15m-ed0023dx) has broken, tearing the left side of the screen away from the frame when the lid is attempted to move.

For reference, this post here is indicative of my laptop's current state, but reversed sides (left, instead of right) https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Envy-X360-Hinge-broken/td-p...

This seems to be a common problem, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to resolve it. I have attempted looking through www.hp.com/contacthp/, however it only offers a paid phone call option, as it is out of warranty (bought in June 2020, expired 2021). The second of three options was to post on Community (which is this), while the third option was to drive to uBreakiFix, which I did and was turned away because they "don't service hinges." I'm kind of lost as to how to address this problem now, and in my senior year in university, I very much need a working notebook for my courses.

How should I proceed? What are my options here? I've seen several (of the apparerntly dozens of complaints on this particular hardware failure) saying if it's out of warranty, there's nothing they will do for it? But given its common occurance, I'm wondering if this is the case?
