The hinge has given out on my laptop. I am an returning HP customer from back when I had HP DV9000 - to my current Envy X360 I usually go with Hp when it comes to windows OS as they make amazing computers. I bought this laptop directly from HP store in 2018. I have contacted hp and do have a case number however I cannot afford to pay for repair especially given the fact that it occured naturally. I am extremely dissappointed why a £1000 laptop has such a major flaw.
After some research I found that this is a common design flaw in many envy laptops.
Here are few of the other complaints;

I have EXACTLY the same issue. So much so that the image posted here looks exactly like my laptop. I can see the screws that hold down the right hinge to the lid have broken away from the plastic stanchions. This seems to be a design flaw with the lid/hinge assembly if so many others are having the same issue. My laptop is still under an extended full coverage "even if you break it" warranty. I love this laptop, so hopefully something has been done to make that lid/hinge assembly a lot more robust.
This model is: HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-bp1xx
One caveat: during this Coronavirus shutdown, I can't send the laptop out for service because I use it everyday. It would have to be locally serviced (or send me the part and I'll complete the repair).
