Please assist, my laptop fan spins full throtlle when I start up my laptop, as soon as the Windows loading screen appears it completely stops spinning, NO, the vents are not clogged, YES, I have re-installed Windows over a dozen times, YES, I have used the HP recovery tool as well. The fan simply stops spinning as soon as Windows loads and the temps gradually keeps on increasing until it's throttled to a crawl. The BIOS has no Fan curve options, simply on all the time or off. when it's on it turns at a slow rate continously without ramping up or down but not enough to cool down the temps at all. I find it strange that this happened within two weeks of my warranty expiring, I feel the lackluster power options supplied to you by HP is evident of their lackluster approach to customer service, I have not found one intelligent conversation from any HP employee on resolving this issue, their training is obviously non existent as the best reply's come from other concerned HP owners helping each other, prove me wrong HP, the fan aint broke either.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
(1) Download and install / update
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows
or
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows v1.8.2.0
- Perform Component test <Fan>

Hi, I tried all your steps, nothing detected, still no fan test option, all other tests return normal. I have in the meantime come accross numerous reports on the HP forum where people are complaining of the exact same issue right after the warranty expires, now I find it very strange that a simple person like myself can do research and find a common problem but the technicians at HP can't, so excuse me if I make the statement that I think that the fans are being deliberately disabled once the warranty expires, not only have I found this on HP's forum but also on others like Asus, Dell and Lenovo. Honestly I will never purchase your products again, from now on I will purchase from brands like Gigabyte, etc.. I'm sorely dissapointed in HP.

I have already tried another fan with the exact same issue, as soon as the Windows bootloader starts the fans are immediatly shut down, from running full speed in the bios to zero when Windows starts. I have now engaged the fan always on feature in the bios which at least lets the fan spin at a constant slow pace, I've had to throttle the machine down with throttlestop, limit the wattage from 35Watt to 15 only and disengage the Intel Turbo Boost feature to get some sort of usability out of the machine, I find this highly frustrating. The thing that gets me about this is that the same phenomenon is happening to many customers on the HP forum, and there is not 1 person with a satisfied fix, not 1 person ever states that anything fixed their issue, people have replaced motherboards and fans with the exact same issue persisiting, how is that even possible?

You obviously do not understand why we (other people like me) are frustrated, it's because we can't just go and buy another pc, we saved up to buy this one, we chose an HP, not a Dell or an Acer or even Asus, we bought an HP, and now when the computer breaks down we are left to try and figure out how to fix the problem, we are not techs, we are not programmers, we feel scammed and cheated out of our money and given useless advice by the so-called tech team, like test the fan when there is no option in the software to test the fan for errors, we are told to re-install windows, we are told to update the driver, the bios, we are told to replace the fan, if that doesn't work, we should just buy a new pc. If only it was that easy!

Hello @MarkC077
I can understand you. One or the other experience one makes in life. Unfortunately, I don't have a magic wand that I can use to solve your problem.
