My laptop PC won't start up. After running the diagnostics test, I get the message that says:
Hard Disk SMART check: FAILED
FAILURE ID: QBVX24-62UA5J-QFPK01-60DU03
Can anyone help me decipher this?

Hi:
The code translates to this...most of the code is used to provide the serial number of your PC, which I have deleted.
| QBVX24-62UA5J-QFPK01-60DU03 | OK | XXXXXXXXXX | 6/26/20 | 301 | Storage | Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape Drive | Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure |
You will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system/
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key,' option and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Ok, so the laptop actually booted up once I tried again. Do you think it's safe to transfer files to an external hard drive after receiving an error like this? The operating system is working right now, but a bit slow.
