Envy 4-1215dx

Hi!

My laptop has a blue screen every time I try to turn it on. It says: "Your PC ran into the problem and needs to restart..." and it keeps restarting. I did a test and it says that my hard drive failed the test.

It says:

FAilure ID: U0E5AK-6NB92H-XD7WWJ-60B303

Product ID: D1A99UA#ABA

How can I fix that and also is there any chance to get all my info from it?

Thank you!

Hard drive will need to be replaced. Odds are good that data can still be harvested off the old drive once it is removed from the chassis, using a usb to SATA cable you can buy for about $10 on amazon.com.

I actually had that exact model at one time so familar with its internals. And here is the Manual:

Service manual

Replacement instructions begin on p. 46. It can only accept the super slim form factor (7mm thick) hard drives (or a solid state drive for better performance). If you had Windows 10 installed and activated a disk for reinstallation can be downloaded free from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool site. You very likely cannot do a clone of the old disk to new, just harvest selected data files off the old drive.
