Hello, I randomly tried starting my computer up one day, and I received an error. When testing the drive, it said that the hard drive/SSD Smart check failed. But the remaining life is 99% according to the test.

Product ID: 552W9PA
I bought the laptop around 2.5 years ago. What can I do to fix the problem?

Yes, I recommend that you install a new drive and reinstall the operating system.
This should be an affordable good performing drive with a 5 year warranty, I believe.
This is the 1 TB capacity:
If you want to stay with around the same capacity, you can buy the 500 GB model.
If you want to increase the storage, you can buy the 1 TB model.

You can either use the Microsoft media creation tool to reinstall Windows
After W11 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page:
Or you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store:

If you have to use the tool on another PC, you will have to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

If you can still get into Windows, I recommend backing up any files you don't want to lose onto a portable hard drive.

It says "The test found a problem with your hard drive and it may need to be replaced. If possible, back up your personal files to a flash drive or external hard drive as soon as you can." I already backed up my important files... Do I need to replace the internal SSD? Do you have any suggestions regarding which SSD I should choose?
