Diagnostic hard drive error; 608AJW-7AN88K-MFPV6K-60UK03.
I was using pc and it hung up. Rebooted and pc would do nothing. I ran the system diagnostic from the F2 setup and it give the above error. Is the drive toast or can it be salvaged. I tried to load options system back on but it won't read the DVD and won't give me an error.

Hi,
Just to be certain, is the error code actually 608AJW-7ANB8K-MFPV6K-60UK03?
If it is, this is a failure of the short Disk Self Test and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of your 17 series notebook - see Here for a further explanation.
