My notebook is stuck in the main hp loading screen. I wasnt able to go to my BIOS menu but after doing some research I have been able to access it. I done a component test on harddrive as I was suspecting that it was harddrive failure. And the test result was following:
Hard Drive SMART check: PASSED
Hard Drive DST Check: FAILED
FAILURE ID: U4G081-7984L-MFPV7F-60UX03
Product ID: H8K09EA#ABU
I think i need to replace my harddrive. If so can you please suggest me what harddrive I would need. (IN THE UK).
THANKYOU 😄

Hi,
The 24 character error code is a failure of the short Disk Self Test and would indicate that the Hard Drive needs to be replaced.
The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook.
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 115 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.

Hi,
Can you double check the second block of your error code U4G081-7984L-MFPV7F-60UX03 as it should contain 6 characters.
