Hey All,

So I am planning to upgrade RAM and Storage capacity for my Laptop. The main concern here is to make my Laptop fast (more responsive). I was wondering if I can upgrade my HDD to 2.5 inch SSD but according to the laptop "Maintenance & Service Guide" there are 3 HDD which are mentioned 2-TB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm/7.2 mm, 1-TB, 7200 rpm, 9.5 mm/7.2 mm and 1-TB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm. So do I have an option to upgrade my storage to 2.5 inch SSD (probably I am gonna go for SAMSUNG 860 EVO if possible)?

Moreover, for RAM it's mentioned that this laptop can only support maximum of 16gb RAM (8gb x 2). I have read in the forum that we can go upto 32gb of RAM. Is that correct?

A response from a HP GUY will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Regards,

Hassan

Your machine is an HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0058wm, its specs

           https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05997544

1. RAM: You should be able to install 32GB (2 x 16GB) to your machine using following compatible RAM (or similar)

            https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd8266/ct12408458

2. Storage: You have 2 options

     (a)  Replace its 2.5" 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA with 1TB 2.5" SSD and you can use Samsung 860 EVO or similar

     (b) Add M.2 NVMe SSD to your machine   (250GB to 2TB) using Crucial P1/P2 series or Samsung 970 EVO series or similar. For example
