I have some general hardware upgrade questions and saw that the last time it was kind of answered was in 2015. I understand there have been some improvements in technology since then.
I'm currently upgrading my Elitebook 8570w workstation that I got from my old workplace. Since I use 3D modelling programs, I would like to be see what the maximum capacity is for this laptop.
1) I've changed out the RAM to 32GB filling all four slots at the maximum allowed (from what I understand) 8GB units. Am I correct in that this is the maximum allowable RAM? I got this running the wmiic get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices in the command prompt. However, what was in my computer was one 8GB and two 4GB units with one slot unused, so I'm just double-checking that I can't upgrade again to 4 x 16GB units later on or something.
2) Is it possible to upgrade the current Bluetooth to be Bluetooth 5.0? Internally, I mean. So I don't use up a usb port on an additional dongle? If so, what are the specs for ensuring the correct fit, or how do I find that out?
3) Is it possible to add one of those amazing, super-duper usb-c ports? I have this 1394 port that I've never used that I'd be happy to replace with 20gig connection.... pipe dream, but thought to ask anyway.
4) I currently have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3840QM CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz, which is not on the list of upgradable processors, but seems to have been working just fine. Can this be upgraded (more)? What is the post-2015 maximum allowable processing capabilities for this laptop?
5) I have an NVIDIA Quadro K2000M. Can this be upgraded to something with more than 2GB and a wee bit faster?
I realize this is an old laptop, but it's currently better than pretty expensive laptops, and upgrading this one is MUCH cheaper. I'm more interested that the upgrades work rather than they are factory approved, since the warranty went out in 2015.
Thanks in advance!
