Common problems for Battery

(3) Press and hold <power> button for 30 seconds

 

(4) Connect charger

(5) Start windows and test touchpad

The Synaptics/Elan software for the touchpad has an option to turn off itself when <external USB mouse> is connected.

the whole ETD has been greyed out... since the issue. that was the first thing i checked.

I see 2 possible error causes ...

 

(1) Your notebook [ 14q-cs1002tu ] is certified by HP for Windows 10 only:

 

Software and drivers for HP Notebook - 14q-cs1002tu

Windows 10 drivers (only) !

Operating system
Windows 10 Home 64

 

--->>> Did the touchpad work before with Windows 10 ?

 

(2) The touchpad has a technical defect !

the touchpad was working even after the windows upgrade to 11. If its a hardware issue, hope its covered under warranty

It is questionable whether that will happen. I would stay with Windows 10.
