Hello, I'm using a model HP Laptop 15-da0xxx. Intel Core i3 8th gen (dual core). I wanted to know the maximum ram speed it supports before I could buy a ram card. Anybody who knows may you please enlighten me.

Hi:
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory is the max.
HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
Usually, a notebook with an Intel 8th gen core processor that has two memory slots like your notebook, will support 32 GB of memory.
You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
If you want to install DDR4-2666 MHz or DDR4-3200 MHz memory, that will be fine, but the memory will only run at 2400 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
