I have recently installed windows 7 Professional (64-bit) on my work laptop. After installation, I have begun updating the drivers, but have not been able to locate the correct ones for the Ethernet and Network Controllers. Without these, I am not able to connect to the internet so that I may run the updates necessary for the other features needed.
The laptop is an HP envy 17t-s000 CTO, and motherboard was originally set up for windows 10, but is now running Windows 7. In Device Manager section, it shows yellow exclamation marks over a number of the "other devices," but I need the Ethernet and network controllers operational, so that I may continue the other updates.
I have already attempted running the RealTek (LAN) driver update, but without success. I am including below the Hardward lds numbers for the Ethernet and Network Contollers:
Ethernet Controller lds -
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_816E103C&REV_0A
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_816E103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200
Network Controller lds -
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3165&SUBSYS_40108086&REV_81
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3165&SUBSYS_40108086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3165&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3165&CC_0280
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Eric Wilson

Thank you so much Paul,
I have downloaded the 3 items you listed, and will install them first thing tomorrow morning.
As soon as I have run them, I will let you know the results. You have no idea how much your quick reply and help
have meant. I have been struggling for a few weeks to have this laptop back up and running correctly. Your reply has been an answer to genuine prayer.
Thank you again, and I will let you know tomorrow.
May God bless and keep you !
Sincerely,
Eric Wilson

Good morning Paul,
The downloads you shared with me have worked perfectly. I am now beginning to run the windows updates,
and to also update the other drivers as needed. So if I encounter any other issues I greatly appreciate your offer to help.
One thing that I noticed, usually, when Windows installs, it sets up a "Recovery partition" so that if there is a need in the future the computer may be recovered to it "factory condition." Right now the laptop only shows that it has the single partition, with no "Recovery" available.
The new installation that I just completed was installing a Samsung 860Evo SSD to replace the original hard drive. And then I did a clean (new) install of the Windows 7 Professional, rather than a clone. Is there a way to add the "Recovery" partition and information similar to the way it was set up originally from the factory ?
Thank you again for taking time to help. I know that the work you do
makes a difference to many people. May our Mighty God bless you and the work of your hands today !
your brother in Him,
Eric Wilson

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller -
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81158.exe
PCI Simple Communication Controller -
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-104000/sp103535.exe
PCI Device -
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98501-99000/sp98820.exe
ACPI\HPQ6007:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78105.exe
ACPI\MSFT0101: I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft hotfix for this device below.
Download, unzip and run the hotfix.
As far as the recovery...unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to put a recovery partition on the drive.
But you can use the free Macrium Reflect disk imaging utility to create a system image, and store it on a portable hard drive.
https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree?x-ca=blog
The software will also have you create bootable DVD or USB flash drive rescue media which you boot from to access the disk image saved on your portable hard drive. You can update the disk image as needed.
It is very easy to use both when creating system images or restoring from one.
Have a blessed Sunday, and if you need any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Good morning Paul,
Thank you for sending these today, I am preparing for a ministry in which we are filming a number of programs for a new series on Freedom in Christ Jesus. Having the laptop working is going to be a great help. I was able to download all of the drivers so far . . . the only thing that I did not receive was the attached "zipped file."
If you are able, would you mind re-sending that file for me ?
Also, I thank you for the suggestion for the recovery software.
As soon as I have it all downloaded, I will reply and let you know. Thank you again,
and may you also have a blessed day and coming week !
Sincerely,
Eric Wilson
