My laptop is running Windows 10, but is slow.  It has 3GB RAM in 2 slots.  I bought 2x4GB sticks and put them in.   Won't recognize them.  I was searching online and saw it may be either bad RAM sticks, or possibly not being recognized because of the BIOS?  Can anyone help.  I realize it is an old laptop, but it does what I need it to do, and can't afford to get a new one right now.

Most likely you bought non-compatible RAM because BIOS supports 8GB, also mentioned on its specs

I can't find compatible RAM (4GB) on Crucial. Please check the following vendor
