Help with drivers for my laptop

I have an old laptop, how do I get recent and compatible windows 10 or 8.1 drivers for it?

I have 2 old laptops both used to run windows 7, i upgraded  with a fresh install of windows 10 1903 version (latest build) without any problems, wndows 10 had all the drivers you need and will load them as it install, only driver i needed was beats audio driver for windows 10 for better sound quilty, windows did load fuctional audio driver though, hope this helps

I assume you mean you have a Probook 6550b model and yes the latest drivers posted here for it are Windows 7. In most cases if you install Windows 8.1 or 10 you will be working fine with native drivers provided by Windows itself. Exceptions might be for video drivers and audio. Windows 7 drivers can be manually installed to fill in and drivers can be found at the sites of component manufacturers. On older laptops I just generally install Windows 10 (I would not install 8.1 on anything personally but a matter of choice) and see what happens. On laptops with at least an Intel Core processor, which you have, I have never had an installation that did not provide at least minimal function. Windows 10 has a really comprehensive set of wireless and wired network drivers, for example. Good luck and post back with any more questions.

My answer would not change much. You have an AMD processor from the same time frame as the 1st generation Intel Core. 

Again, just install 8.1 or 10 and you will have enough function to continue to find what few drivers do not automatically load.
