I have tried the virtual support and gotten nowhere. As soon as I awake my notebook the fan starts up and does not stop until it goes back into sleep mode. It stands on a flat surface, the airways are not blocked and it is only 11 months old. It is driving me up the wall with the noise can anyone help me please

With help from the Support team my notebook was updated to the latest version of Windows which took a while but, fingers crossed, the fan is off. I did not touch the bios as support told me it was the latest version and would only turn the fan off if the windows update did not stop the fan from being continuously on. I am a happy bunny at present 🙂

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the fan is always on and you want to turn it off.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 key on startup and look for the option “Fan Always On” and disable it and check if it helps.
In case you don’t find the option in BIOS then I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
