I was wondering what the highest supported CPU upgrade would be for a HP 15-AC120NA, and if anyone also knows the highest supported DDR3L SDRAM speed, I would be super happy 🙂
Currently stock 8GB 1900MHz and Pentium 3825U 1GHz, would be nice to upgrade!

Hi:
The processor is an integral part of the motherboard, and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.
The fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at is 1600 MHz and that would be the same for any of the motherboards that may have faster/better processors.

Hi, thanks for your input.
I have already serviced this notebook (might be a slightly different model) and it is a socketed CPU, it is upgradable.
As for the RAM, the RAM already runs at 1900MHz so how comes the CPU supports only 1600?

You're very welcome,
The memory your processor has is only running at the memory at 1600 MHz max according to the intel specs on the processor, and the processor has a FCBGA1168 socket, which stands for flip chip ball grid array...soldered to the motherboard.
If you look at the service manual, Chapter 3, you will see no separate processor part numbers, only motherboards with different processors.
If you look at chapter 6, you will find no procedure to remove and replace the processor.
