HP Laptop PC 14-d2000 (2D127AV)

So my laptop's hinge cover started acting up weird around 6 months ago where the left side of the cover wouldn't stick to the laptop at all no matter what force, and now i wanted to assess the issue and disassembled the laptop's hinge cover and now the top clips (facing the display) are no longer even clipping together with the laptop and even the weakest force can take the whole thing down. the question i want to ask is this the laptop's clips acting up or is it the hinge cover clips that are broken? and can i replace 14s-dq hinge covers with all other 14 inch models?

Hi @mohamedali2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for sharing the details, it does sound like either the hinge cover clips or the internal chassis clips might be damaged.

Since these components are quite delicate and model-specific, the best next step would be to visit the nearest HP-authorized service center

They'll be able to assess exactly which part is causing the issue and suggest the right replacement for your HP 14s-dq.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
