HP 15-bw039na

I had my daughters laptop repaired by HP in January 2019, as the keyboard facia was separating from the main body due mainly to the laptop hinge. However, this is occurring again but on the screen side, again caused by the hinge. There seems to be a design flaw at the hinge part of the laptop, which after time prises the main laptops plastic fascia to lift away.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Hi, I eventually managed to make contact with someone in the HP tech department! I’ve never known such an absurd way of seeking customer service help, having to go onto chat group, rather than call someone. Anyway, they then quoted me £250 to repair the hinge! After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I informed them that was nearly the cost of the actual laptop - absolutely outrageous cost to repair a hinge, which they had already previously repaired under warranty before. Needless to say the person got very short shrift from me. Therefore, I went straight onto YouTube and then bought a repair kit on eBay for £40, which included  2 x hinges, facia and cover. It took me an hour or so to fit the new hinges, but my daughter now has a laptop that works and looks new. It really wasn’t that difficult to do, that plenty of photos during the dissembling, to help when you’re ready to re-assemble. Do it yourself, and save a heap of money. This is the 2nd laptop which has had the same problem, I won’t ever buy a HP product again - there products suck as do their customer service .
