So I've an out of warranty 15" Envy x360 notebook I just love. Recently I cracked the screen and while the crack does not effect the display itself had to disable the touchscreen function, that one was just going crazy. Long story short, trying to get a replacement screen is challenge. When entering the serial number in HP parts surfer I would have expected one number to be returned, being the one they actually installed at the factory. But no, 7 different possible numbers show up. OK, I've can get to a resolution of 3840 x 2160 which makes it UHD and brings the choice down to 2 possible displays. I also read there's one LCD version and one OLED version but there doesn't seem to be a conclusive way of detecting which one I have. Or it there a way without disassembling the unit and looking at the sticker on the back of the display ?
One of the two display options left ends of NSV, the other one ends on NFB. Does anyone know what those acronyms stand for ?

You will need to disassemble to get the exact part number and decide whether you want to replace just the screen or the assembly that holds the screen.
Display Screen: Screens can have OEM parts such as LG, Samsung, etc. An HP part number may include the OEM screen plus mounting hardware which makes it easier to replace but sometimes harder to find if the system is older than a few years.
When you search for the part number be sure to include AliExpress as most screens are made in Asia. To find disassembly video

Frequently a used working laptop sells for less than a new replacement screen
