Hi all, I have a new HP Envy 17-cr1003ca with Windows 11. I cant seem to use the usual English keyboard symbol keys (the ones that appear white such as the question mark and apostrophe. An example would be the question mark (usual, what has been for me on English keyboard in Canada). For these keys the blue symbol seems to be the default (for question mark, this is é or É with shift button)

My keyboard is set to English US for this reason, but no change. I have searched other queries and tried a few steps (left shift & alt, fn or control, or mixes of these).

This seems to affect the symbol keys to the right of the letter keys and the top left key under ESC (symbol I cant get is the horizontal curved line.. not sure the name, I use for noting something approximately)

Can I change to keyboard to be able to use these keys or does anyone have a legend to plug in for these symbols. My preference would be the first option... it seems strange to have a keyboard work differently than any other Ive use in English Canada.

thanks!

The keyboard seems set for French even though I thought I set it up differently and cant seem to change this following keyboard language change instructions)

when I hit  SHIFT + question mark - É

when I hit question mark -

SHIFT + quotation mark - È (also, doesnt make sense as they are different keys!)

annoying and I cant seem to fix.
