Hi I have an HP 250 G8 intel core i3-100561

I want to use two monitors.  I have tried an multiport adapter but the laptop didn't recognise the usb plug.

I was thinking to get a hdmi-spliter.

Will the laptop be compatiable/ recognise 2 monitors?

Thanks.

If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and a notebook monitor - a total of 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you a few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on the market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)

First - with the HDMI splitter - that will connect two monitors but the problem will be that both monitors will display the same thing.  The splitter will give two identical outputs.

The USB adapter should provide an independent output that will fulfill the desired outcome.

Depending on which USB port is being used.  The "normal" USB ports on the right side should give support for this style USB to HDMI/DVI/VGA adapter

I personally have not used a USB C multiport adapter but have seen them used with a MACBook and they work very nicely.  It might be the USB C port on your laptop does not provide the correct interface for the multiport adapter you tried.
