Hi @s1tantn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand looking for a new charger for your HP Envy M7, it's important to consider several factors to ensure compatibility and performance. Here are the key aspects you should look into:

Voltage and Ampere: The output voltage and current (ampere) of the charger should match the specifications of your original charger. If you've found a charger with the same voltage and higher or equal amperage (in this case, 100-240V~1.7A compared to your original 100-240V~1.6A), it should be fine. A slightly higher amp rating is usually acceptable as it indicates that the charger can supply the necessary current. However, the voltage must match exactly.

Plug Size and Polarity: Ensure that the charger has the correct plug size and polarity (the position of the positive and negative contacts) for your device. This ensures a proper connection and functionality.

Brand and Compatibility: It's recommended to use a genuine HP charger or a charger certified to work with HP devices. This ensures quality and reduces the risk of damage to your laptop.

Input Specifications: The input specifications (100-240V~50-60Hz) you mentioned are generally universal and should work as long as they match the power supply capabilities of your location.

Please help us with the Printer serial number or the product number in a private message for further assistance.
