How many RAM slots does it have

HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0077wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day, I'm considering getting the HP Pavilion Gaming laptop 15 (cx0077wm). There's just one issue that I need to get sorted, I'm not sure how much Ram it supports or how many slots there are if the Laptop is upgradeable at all. Just need the answer to those issues, can I upgrade the RAM, How many Slots are available and lastly can I put an ssd in there as well.

Thank you kindly.

@Paul169

It has 2 slots and supports up to 32GB. Your machine has 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now. You can simply add 8GB more to get total 16GB using following RAM

     8-GB (DDR4-2666) part # 937236-855

How many RAM slots does it have

Hi,

Your PC will support max 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x16GB)

There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module. You can purchase from your preferred brand.

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-gaming-15-cx0077wm#MEMORYFi...

On page 43 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643

You could install a super fastM2 PCIe NVMe SSD such as the M2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus in the machine (of your desired capacity), however, you will need to remove and disable the Intel Optane which is installed at the moment.

Hope it helps,

David
