I have a HP Pavilion 15-p051us laptop that I would like to replace the memory on. Before I purchase replacement memory and open up the laptop I would like to know how many dimm slots this laptop has. Also, does anyone know of a memory size limit for this laptop (I want to say it is 12GB, but I could not find this online).

Hi,
Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (2x8GB)
There are two slots and one has a 8GB stick in it. So you can add another 8GB stick (or 4GB stick) in the empty slot.
You can buy RAM from your preferred breand such as Crucial, Samsung....
On page 116 of service manual you can see the steps to replace RAM which is not so easy on this model as you need to remove the motherboard to get to the RAM slots:

You can also look at these HP videos for that model which can help:

The computer has two memory slots on the motherboard.
The type of RAM this machine uses is DDR3 Laptop RAM.
The Max Amount of ram i would suspect to be 12 or 16GB of RAM.
The Service Manual can be found here.
Feel Free to ask any more questions if you have any.
