I have recently purchased victus 15 15-fb3036ax. But is having only 512 GB SSD storage, which is not sufficient for me. At the time of purchase Salesman said that SSD is expandable and have 2 slots so I agreed and buy. Can someone please verify if this is expandable?

Thanks

Below is the link to the service manual for Victus 15-fb3000 series.

Maintenance and Service Guide Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC Model number: 15-fb3xxx

Read chapter 5 of the manual on page 31. it appears that M.2 SSDs are 'Customer Self-Repair' parts, but the note there reads:

"NOTE: The Customer Self-Repair program is not available in all locations. Installing a part that is not
supported by the Customer Self-Repair program can void your warranty. Check your warranty to
determine whether Customer Self-Repair is supported in your location."

If you want to upgrade the SSD to a larger one yourself. you need to contact HP customer service to find out if the Customer Self-Repair is supported in your location.

You can also ask HP about your second question too, as we forum volunteers can't answer that type of question.

@Sachin1411,

Generally, M2 NVMe SSDs have no capacity limit.

You can upgrade the SSD to max 4 TB NVMe gen4 SSD.

See this HP specs for 15-fb3000 series for the list of Ryzen processors that support two M.2 slots.

If your model has a Ryzen 7 8845HS, your notebook appears to have one M.2 slot.

Thanks for reply, I understood that I have Ryzen 7 8845 processor and have one slot only. By mistake I purchased this product. Now I wanted to increase SSD to 1 or 2 TB. I do the replacement (at my cost obliviously), but does the windows installation I have to do manually or should I contact HP support for this work?

Another thing related to older 512 GB SSD (to be replaced), what should I do with that? That will not be useful for me. Can HP take that back and adjust in my purchase of 1/2 TB?
